Half-plate daguerreotype in leather case of Elisabeth Sprague Tobey (1842-1911), daughter of Edward S. Tobey and Hannah Brown Sprague Tobey, with a doll. The photograph was taken ca. 1848 and is attributed to the photographers Southworth & Hawes of Boston, Mass. Attached to the case is a note in the hand of Edward T. Stuart that identifies the photograph.
